Privateers Drop Southland Opener

Tied at 67-67 with two minutes left, visiting Southeastern Louisiana took over down the stretch and beat New Orleans, 73-68.

The UNO backcourt combined for 33 points, but a lack of frontcourt strength -- the Privateers were destroyed 37-18 on the boards -- helped do in the host school.  Khaleb Wilson-Rouse led the way with 17 points, and Jordan Johnson had 16 points and 6 assists.

The Privateers (5-9, 0-1) have a quick turnaround to their next conference game, as they will take on Texas A&M-Commerce at Lakefront Arena on Monday night.
