Big Win Over Birmingham Southern

After struggling with their last Division III opponent in a narrow win over Belhaven, the Privateers (5-6) emphatically took care of business on Thursday evening against Birmingham Southern, 91-51.

New Orleans led big early and were never threatened, building a 49-24 lead at the half and expanding the cushion from there.  Though he finished below his season average due to only needing to play 21 minutes, Jordan Johnson still led the UNO offensive attack with 16 points.  Turk Vincent had a strong outing, posting a 14-point, 12-rebound double-double in just 19 minutes.  Freshman Dorian Booker came off the bench to add 12, and Tyson Jackson had 11.

The Privateers have two more non-conference guarantee games away from home before they start conference play.  Next up is a road trip to Ohio State.
