Privateers Get Past UIW in OT

It wasn't pretty, but the Privateers (6-9, 3-1) eked out a 85-79 overtime victory at Incarnate Word on Thursday night.

Fueled by Tyson Jackson's 22 points on a perfect 9-for-9 night from the field, UNO fought off a late Cardinals rally that saw them fight from 11 down in the second half to forcing overtime.

UIW even led early in the bonus session, but New Orleans and Jackson were too much down the stretch.  Turk Vincent aided the cause with another double-double, notching 14 points and 12 rebounds.  Jordan Johnson struggled from the field but did have 13 points to go along with a team-high 6 assists.

UNO will have a showdown with preseason conference favorite Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday night in Texas.
