Though HBU cut the UNO lead to single digits, the Bucs extended it back to 12 and appeared to have things in control as the game headed down the stretch. But HBU ripped off a 15-2 run to take the lead, culminating in an Oliver Lynch-Daniels three to make it 58-57. Ezekiel Charles answered with a three for UNO, but two HBU free throws put the game into overtime, where the Privateers finally edged ahead for good.
Charles posted his first career double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Bryson Robinson added 14 along with 6 assists. Three other Bucs had 10.
New Orleans will hit the road on Wednesday for a contest at Lamar on ESPN+.
