New Orleans (5-7, 0-1), which roared to an 18-4 lead, kept its lead through halftime and well into the second half, going up 42-31 with roughly 14 minutes to play. But by the 7-minute mark, they trailed by 11, enduring a Bryson Robinson ejection and a blitz of nine field goals in a row converted by ACU, completely turning the night around.
Scott Plaisance kept UNO in it all night, providing an inside presence and 18 points, a career high, to go along with 7 rebounds. Ezekiel Charles had 14. Damion Rosser provided a workmanlike effort, not scoring much but leading the team with 8 rebounds.
UNO will play its home conference opener this Saturday afternoon at Lakefront Arena. Tip time is 2 p.m.
