New Orleans held back a 9th inning Grambling rally and won Saturday's contest at Barrow Stadium, 11-8. The game was knotted 3-3 headed to the bottom of the eighth, when UNO unleashed an eight-run rally where only three hits left the infield.
Grambling rallied for five in the ninth off Jarred Taylor, who was still the game's winning pitcher, before Daniel Martinez closed things out with two strikeouts. Newcomer Kyle Bracey had three hits for the second consecutive game to lead the Bucs.
The Privateers (2-0) conclude their part in the Urban Youth Invitational tomorrow with a 1 p.m. contest at Maestri Field against Louisiana Tech.
