The Privateers (9-16, 5-9) were buried in a sea of Lion three-pointers in the first half on Wednesday, falling behind 55-24 at the half. Despite a furious rally in the second half, fueled by multiple steals, New Orleans fell by a 93-81 count in Hammond.
JaMichael Hawkins of SLU went 5-for-5 on threes in the first half, and Southeastern shot 13-for-19 as a team for the game. Christavious Gill led the UNO effort with 21 points.
New Orleans next travels to Abilene Christian on Saturday.
